AA group buys BSM Driving School

AA Developments Ltd yesterday 1st Febuary 2011 bought the BSM driving school after it went in to administration following an aggressive campaign to increase its driving school franchise instructors to 3000 from 2100.

The sale now means that the parent company of AA driving school now owns to the 2 largest national learner driver businesses as the initial plans are to keep the two brands as different operations.

One doesn't know yet what changes are going to be made to the 100yr old BSM, but as far as AA developments is concerned, it is a win win situation for them being owners of 2 of the best known motoring brands in the UK.

Lets hope there will still be some competition between the 2 bands and consumers will get fair value for their money.

you would think logic would kick in and the first thing AA do is change BSM's choice of car. How many instructors did this cost them? It will be interesting to see how over the next year this will affect RED and independant driving schools in terms of prices and work loads.

Hope they run BSM school

I guess that it was a problem of timing for BSM, choosing to expand just before the recession hit. With people losing jobs, I imagine people may be putting driving lessons on the back burner. I hope AA keep competitive prices having taken over one of their competitors.

BSM offers many services like Standard Hourly Driving lessons, Refresher Driving Lessons, Good honest one to one driving Lessons, Hourly lessons, Manual Driving Lessons etc. This is a very good driving school.

AA and BSM need to have sympathetic approach towards Driving Instructors and devise a policy that is fair to both parties ie they agree on % of driving lesson fee.
But with AA buying BSM, AA will have virtual monopoly and this is likly to squeeze driving instructors even further.
